LAUREL NUTRILAB uses state-of-the-art technology and research to make meal packages that deliver optimal nutrition and taste. Its products were co-developed with a top tier university in Taiwan, renowned for biomedical research.

We developed a design system to ensure packaging is consistent, distinguishable, and intuitive for the consumer regardless of how the products are stacked. Firstly, the grid-like system was inspired by science labs and objects common to that environment, like the folder. Secondly, we used a clear information hierarchy to enable the consumer to intuitively gravitate towards what they want, whether it's a soup, a carb meal, or their preferred sauce.

The product category name and flavor are prominently placed at the top while key nutritional information are placed at the bottom, taking inspiration from the Nutrition Facts label found at the back of products. Lastly, we selected rich colors that trigger hunger while complementing the meal photography at the front to clue consumers of the hero flavor. For instance, yellow for Indian curry and green for peas.
